A charcoal-making plant is a facility that converts organic waste materials like wood, sawdust, coconut shells, rice husks, and other biomass into high-quality charcoal using advanced carbonization technology. This process helps reduce waste and turns it into valuable energy resources.
How Does a Charcoal Making Plant Work?
Raw Material Collection: Source biomass like wood, coconut shells, sawdust, bamboo, or agricultural waste.
Drying: Dry the biomass to reduce moisture content, using natural or industrial methods.
Carbonization (Pyrolysis): Heat the biomass to 400–800°C without oxygen in a pyrolysis furnace, converting it into charcoal. Bio-oil and gas are by-products.
Cooling and Discharging: Cool the hot charcoal before removing it from the furnace to maintain quality.
Packaging: Process and package the cooled charcoal for sale as lump charcoal, briquettes, or activated carbon.
